Intermediate Designer – Security Systems

Location: Canada

Mandatory: Must be able to obtain Canadian Government Security Clearance at Secret Level (10+ years in Canada)

Attain is seeking a motivated and experienced individual to meet the demands of clients for services relating to Security and SMART building programs, with a focus on Security assessments, requirements, and designs.

You have:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience designing and auditing security systems
  • The ability to be Secret Cleared with the Canadian Government
  • University degree or College diploma in relevant technology
  • Ability to read and interpret technical and communications drawings
  • Knowledge of National and Provincial Building Codes important
  • Some AutoCAD and / or Revit drafting skills an asset
  • Time management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately with minimal supervision
  • Customer interaction at various levels of management with professionalism
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to travel
  • Valid driver license

What you will do:

    Engaging with clients and partners for the purposes of consultation and systems design and engineering, such as: requirements gathering, training, design, workshops, presentations, construction meetings, coordination, and commissioning:

  • Developing systems designs and related documentation
  • Writing customer reports, demonstrating excellent communications skills in the English language, with French language skills an asset
  • Demonstrating a keen attention to detail
  • Drafting specification documents, client proposals and other correspondence and reports for clients
  • Planning, designing, coordinating and project management of Electronic Security Systems
  • Conducting site surveys, providing functional requirements, reviewing CAD drawings, specifications, bills of materials, scope of work, and cost estimates, and quotes.
  • Developing working relationships with clients, staff, partners, and suppliers
  • Performing reviews on Security System designs by peers
  • Initiating quotes, as well as managing and updating project information in Attain’s system for monthly billing purposes
